Labourer

The incumbent is responsible for providing assistance with the maintenance of the plant and equipment (general maintenance) and serve the department’s customers satisfactorily.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute all tasks assigned by the Engineering Supervisors and/or Manager in a timely manner;
• Support Technician on the execution of Preventative Maintenance tasks;
• Clean equipment and areas as assigned by Engineering Supervisors and/or Manager;
• Perform housekeeping (cleaning) activities as needed or as instructed. Clean as you go.
• Collect and remove of garbage generated during the shift. Place in the designated garbage and/or recycling bins.
• Provide information for the preventive maintenance database to reduce to zero reoccurrence of avoidable machine breakdowns and reporting any obstacles found when the execution is not efficient.
• Ensure that tools are not abused leading to early replacement.
• Ensure care is exercise in the maintenance of equipment to avoid pre-mature failure and shortened life.
• Notify superiors of any tools and/or spare parts required for execution of repairs.
• Prepare reports of activities as required by the Engineering Supervisor or Manager;
• Demonstrate and maintain good housekeeping in the execution of maintenance activities.
• Demonstrate and maintain tools, spares, and other equipment with such care that they are not left lying in or on machinery, on the factory floor or generally out of place.
• Follow good manufacturing practice in the execution of maintenance activities.
• Be knowledgeable of all maintenance operations, protocols and activities.
• Maintain Engineering areas (workshops, stores, Boiler room) in a clean, tidy and organize manner at all times. Remove accumulated garbage at the end of each shift.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
• Conforms to all established departmental & company policies, procedures & objectives, fulfils the requirements of CGA Ltd.’s SQF Program including but not limited to GMPs, PPE, HACCP, food safety & HSE site protocols.
• Recommend and /or implement new methods, processes, and improvements where required.
• Immediately report any non-conformances relating to maintenance operations to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required by the Engineering Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Undergo all job-related training required by the company.
