Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: South, Trinidad
Employment Type: Contract
Department: Laboratory / Quality Control
Reports To: Laboratory Supervisor / QA/QC Manager


Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and maintaining accurate records to support quality control and operational requirements. The role requires adherence to established procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses on samples in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and test equipment for analysis
  • Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and laboratory safety standards
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and documentation
  • Assist in troubleshooting testing issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals and samples

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a laboratory or quality control environment
  • Experience in industrial, oil & gas, or manufacturing laboratories is an asset
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing procedures

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good record-keeping and documentation abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and procedures

Working Conditions
