Loss Prevention Officer

The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified employees to fill the position of Loss Prevention Officer.

The incumbent will be required to ensure the security of the Company’s plant, equipment, and personnel through providing direction to a third-party provider as well as utilising their own initiative and efforts. They will also advise management on improvements to security practices and procedures and is the lead on the rollout and implementation of the organisation’s Food Defense Plan.

The incumbent will also lead all investigations and will play a critical leadership role in the management of any incidents and will interface with the Company’s employees and customers and other third parties to address situations that may arise in the performance of the job or as delegated.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Security Operations & Surveillance

  • Proficiency in operating and monitoring CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Skilled in patrolling, perimeter checks, and intrusion prevention.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols for fire, theft, sabotage, or workplace violence.
  • Ability to analyze security footage and incident reports to identify risks and patterns.

2. Food Defense & Regulatory Compliance

  • Understanding of Food Defense regulations
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate intentional contamination risks.
  • Competence in conducting vulnerability assessments and updating the Food Defense Plan.
  • Skilled in controlling access to sensitive areas (raw materials, processing zones, storage).

3. Investigations & Incident Management

  • Ability to conduct discreet, fact-based investigations into theft, breaches, or contamination attempts.
  • Evidence gathering and report writing that can withstand legal scrutiny.
  • Collaboration with law enforcement, regulators, and internal compliance teams.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action planning.

 

4. Risk Assessment & Preventive Measures

  • Knowledge of risk mapping for security threats (internal and external).
  • Competence in developing and enforcing security SOPs for personnel, visitors, and contractors.
  • Proactive monitoring of emerging threats (industrial espionage, disgruntled employees, cyber-physical security risks).

5. Communication & Coordination

  • Clear, concise incident reporting and escalation to management.
  • Ability to train staff on security awareness and food defense protocols.
  • Liaising with production, quality assurance, and HR to integrate security into daily operations.

6. Crisis & Emergency Response

  • First responder capability for security breaches, hazardous materials incidents, and evacuation procedures.
  • Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make rapid, informed decisions.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s established good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Food Safety and Quality requirements by self and subordinates;
  • Actively promote, support and comply with Kiss Baking Company Limited’s established Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and industry best practices;
  • Perform other related duties as required for the smooth running of the department.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • B.Sc. in Business / Security Management or an appropriate combination of training and experience in modern Security Management / Loss Prevention
  • At least 5-6 years work experience with a proven track record in Security at the senior level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint with practical experience of use in a work environment. 
  • Excellent Communication/Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and detailed oriented
  • Possession of a Firearm Users Certificate will be considered an asset
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s Permit and an insured motor vehicle in good working condition will be required.
