LAND SURVEYOR

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Land Surveyor for the St. Thomas, Portland Regions & Catherine Estates Housing Development.

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys and performing calculations and measurements for the various construction projects.

Responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct site surveys and give reports on the various work sites
• Taking measurements on distances and angles to establish boundaries
• Prepare designs from technical specifications
• Use specialized equipment including GPS and Geographic Information System devises to measure boundaries and contours
• Perform mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements
• Elevation controls and handover reports for road works and housing project
• Analyze data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs
• Provide technical support for construction team
• Ensure finished production are closed out on time and of good quality

Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Science or other related discipline
• At least four (4) years’ field experience in engineering surveying
• Knowledge in the use of RTK equipment, Total Station and levelling machine
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Highly responsive with strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
• Must reside in St. Thomas, Portland, Kingston & St. Andrew or St. Catherine regions.
