LABORATORY TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS- CORNWALL REGIONAL HOSPITAL

The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health and Wellness) is seeking to employ three (3) Laboratory Technical Assistants for CORNWALL REGIONAL HOSPITAL.

 Reporting to the Chief Medical Technologist, the incumbents’ core responsibilities will include:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Phlebotomy duties
• Receive, sort, record, and dispatch specimens to respective departments
• Enter data on the information system
• Prepare specimens for testing in the departments
• Perform relevant tests in the departments
• Collate data for monthly report

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Four (4) subjects in CXC or GCE O’ Level or other recognized certification including English, Mathematics or Accounts, Biology and another subject
• Certificate in Phlebotomy/Venipuncture
• Awareness of Intravenous cannulation and infusion would be an asset
