The Junior Project Engineer – Fabric Maintenance is responsible for supporting the execution of Fabric Maintenance (FM) and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) related work scopes.

Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Junior Project Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

The Junior Project Engineer – Fabric Maintenance is responsible for supporting the execution of Fabric Maintenance (FM) and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) related work scopes.

Commercial

  • Assist with planning and monitoring contract budgets and costs.
  • Review invoices and support cost tracking activities.
  • Communicate operational progress, challenges, and commercial implications to the Project Engineer (Fabric Maintenance).
  • Support negotiations relating to contract variations and changes.
  • Assist in reporting contract progress, cost variations, and operational efficiencies to management.

Customer & Client Coordination

  • Support planning activities in conjunction with the client’s FM Coordinator.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project progress.
  • Ensure client expectations and deliverables are achieved.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and operational requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing customer service gaps.
  • Support the development of strong client relationships.

Logistics & Resource Coordination

  • Assist in planning and monitoring personnel requirements, including subcontractor services, for FM campaigns, EPC projects, and shutdown activities.
  • Liaise with HR and platform teams regarding mobilisation and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate shipments and logistics activities through the Logistics Department.

Operations & Technical Support

  • Participate in onshore and offshore Fabric Maintenance work surveys.
  • Support the planning and execution of project work scopes and operational activities.
  • Monitor subcontractor and operational activities to ensure compliance with HSEQ procedures, cost controls, and schedules.
  • Provide technical support to offshore and onshore teams.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and support project coordination activities.
  • Prepare work instructions, TASC assessments, work orders, and job cards for offshore activities.
  • Assist in ensuring CTRs, estimates, work packs, and project documentation are completed on time.
  • Track mobilisation of personnel, materials, and equipment within client systems and internal trackers.
  • Support estimating and tendering activities where required.
  • Maintain project files and communication records.

Personnel Support

  • Assist HR with recruitment, onboarding, and deployment of personnel.
  • Participate in competency assessments and personnel evaluations where required

Qualifications

  • An Undergraduate Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited institution, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in project execution activities within the oil and gas industry.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in Fabric Maintenance activities, including inspection and monitoring of oil and gas equipment.
  • Current and valid onshore/offshore certifications would be an asset.
  • A strong trade background in Fabric Maintenance, Coatings, Insulation, Passive Fire Protection (PFP), or Access Solutions.
  • Previous experience in an FM Lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Certifications from recognized bodies such as:
    • AMPP 
    • NEBOSH
    • IOSH
    • Relevant Fabric Maintenance or Inspection certifications
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months). 
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
