The Junior Accountant – GGIL Finance must be flexible, possess excellent time management skills and be extremely organized to ensure that deadlines are met. He/ She must be able to work with minimal supervision and be driven and results oriented.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Junior Accountant - GGIL Finance works toward ensuring accurate accounting records for company receipts and disbursements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Treasury and Investments
•    Adhere to treasury procedures for the GGIL business ensuring all cash needs in local and foreign currencies are anticipated, while ensuring all foreign currency risk is mitigated.
•    Prepare monthly treasury needs analysis by working with the monthly cash flow forecast to ensure that all cash obligations are anticipated.
•    Prepare all investment activities and accounting transactions booked in GGIL’s books.  The incumbent should monitor all transactions, including placement of investments in the respective statutory funds and deposits to maintain balances required for regulatory purposes.
•    Review the calculations that support all journals entered into Oracle.
•    Review all GAM reconciliations quarterly.
•    Works with GAM to coordinate the preparation for interim and year end audits.
•    Develop controls to review the overseas business portfolios.
•    Management of relationship with banking relationship managers
•    Updating of banking information across all territories to ensure up to date company and signatory information on record. Including online access for processing of transactions.
•    Processing of payment requests from various departments in line with internal procedure.
•    Credit card settlement and monitoring to meet business needs.
•    Analysis of expense and accrual accounts monthly.
•    Accruals reconciliations monthly.

2.    Bank Reconciliations 
•    Review/ prepare assigned bank reconciliations within the stipulated deadlines. 
•    Ensure reconciling items are cleared within recommended deadlines. 
•    Provision of bank statements and balances


3.    To perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Vice President.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
•    BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
•    Level 2 ACCA, pursuing Level 3 or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary educational institution.
•    5 CXC/CSEC Passes including English Language and Mathematics. 
•    2 A’ Level/ CAPE passes
•    At least three (3) years’ experience in the accounting/auditing field or a similar environment.
•    Knowledge of Oracle Financials.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
