The Junior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day accounting activities. is carried out in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Policies approved by the Directors for the efficient and effective conduct of the Business.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIIES:
- Prepares monthly Financial Statements, Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements.
- Prepares the annual audit file and submits for review.
- Provides support and assistance to the Company’s Auditors in the conduct of audit exercises.
- Prepares Monthly Bank Reconciliation of both RBTT and RBL accounts each month and required to analyze the bank account on a daily basis.
- Prepares Breakeven Analysis reports as and when requested.
- Prepares the Payroll for monthly-paid employees.
- Maintains Age Payables and Receivables.
- Prepares and/or verifies all Inter-Co. billings e.g. product, health plan etc.
- Prepares all Statutory Payments with specific reference to: P.A.Y.E. and N.I.S each month. Quarterly taxes payments for each quarter, annually.
- Prepares TD 4 reconciliations and TD 1 forms for verification and submission to BIR.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- Verifies all invoices and vouchers for payment for approval and cheque preparation on a timely basis.
- Ensures reconciliations are done weekly and signed-off for submission to ensure that payment is made on a timely basis.
- Ensures that all accounting staff complete work assignments.
- Ensures that all key deliverables of subordinates are meet so as to:
q Facilitate the company’s timely collection of monies due and
q Meet all payment obligations to its creditors, statutory boards etc.
- Ensures that all internal controls which impact on the ability of the Company to protect its assets and minimize liability are duly maintained.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:
- Responsible for performance appraisals for employees whose probation has ended.
- Reviews and updates employees’ leave, also monitors staff punctuality and attendance.

Minimum Acceptable Academic/Technical/Professional Qualifications.
q A Professional Accounting Qualification as evidenced by membership or having completed the professional examinations of the A.C.C.A or C.I.M.A. or its equivalent and a minimum of two years’ post qualifying experience in a similar position.
