Lecturer: Mathematics

Job Purpose

Responsible for delivering comprehensive and engaging lectures to students at the post-secondary level. This role involves designing course materials, delivering lectures, assessing student performance, and contributing to curriculum development. The lecturer plays a crucial role in fostering students' understanding and enthusiasm for the discipline.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Course Design and Preparation:

 · Develop course outlines, syllabi, and learning objectives for courses.

· Create instructional materials, including lecture notes, presentations, reading assignments, and lab activities.

· Incorporate current research and industry trends to ensure course content is up-to-date and relevant.

 Lecture Delivery:

 · Deliver engaging and informative lectures to students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

· Explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner, fostering student comprehension and critical thinking.

· Incorporate real-world examples and applications to illustrate the practical relevance of the topics.

Assessment and Grading:

 · Develop assignments, quizzes, exams, and other assessments to evaluate student understanding of course materials.

· Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments, offering guidance for improvement.

· Grade student work fairly and consistently, maintaining accurate records of student performance.

Student Engagement and Interaction:

 · Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and active learning.

· Promotes open discussions, encourages questions, and addresses student inquiries effectively.

· Demonstrates approachability and willingness to provide academic support during office hours.

Curriculum Development and Innovation:

 · Contributes to the ongoing improvement of course curricula, incorporating new developments and emerging trends

· Integrates innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience.

Experience:

· Prior teaching or tutoring experience

· Strong expertise in the area of specialization, with a solid understanding of fundamental principles and recent advancements.

· Demonstrated teaching experience, preferably at the college or university level.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.

· Passion for education and a student-centered approach to teaching.

· Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful learning environment.

· Proficiency in using educational technology and multimedia tools for effective instruction

Overseas recruits are eligible for a Housing Allowance of USD10,200.00 (Providenciaes) Per Annum, a settling-in allowance and 10% gratuity upon successful completion of the contract of engagement.

Qualification

Master's or doctoral degree in the respective discipline or related field (Mathematics or a related field) 

Salary Range

USD40,210.90 - USD43,488.40 per annum

Location: Providenciales
