The Logistics and Purchasing Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies and be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes with excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and maintain tracking systems for incoming shipments from point of order to warehouse receipt.

· Ensure documentation is correct and fulsome before the arrival of the consignment to ensure swift clearance of all shipments.

· Coordinate with custom brokers, local logistics providers, Customs, and internal staff to ensure the efficient offloading of imported containers.

· Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.

· Ensure that purchased items are delivered to the various locations in the least possible time

· Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.

· Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

· Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

· Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.

· Researching and evaluating potential suppliers to determine if they have a favorable price, quality and speed of delivery

· Analyzing price proposals, financial reports and other relevant information to decide on a purchase

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes.

Keeps all records in a way that they can be checked at any time for information or audit purposes.

· Train and mentor procurement team members.

· Willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.

· Any other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Degree in business administration or a related field.

· Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position.

· Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.

· Strong planning and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

· Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communication levels with customers and team members.

· Attention to multi-task and pay attention to details

· Ability to perform independently and/or under pressure

· Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and function in a team environment.
