Primarily responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of hardware and software. Assists coworkers in resolving and/or troubleshooting IT problems in person, over the phone or via e-mail.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, upgrade and troubleshoot end user workstations, hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products, ensuring all setup parameters meet industry standards.
  • Follow maintenance protocols to ensure systems are secure and ready for users.
  • Perform minor structured wiring repairs and punch downs.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, help desk tickets, and/or emails regarding PC and/or hardware problems urgently.
  • Occasional lifting, moving, pushing and pulling items at least 40lbs into place or crawling in tight spaces.
  • Responsible for accounting, organizing and maintaining of IT assets
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information; adheres to company security policies. 

Job Level: Intermediate

Requirements and qualifications:

  • 3 CXCs (including English language)
  • IT Industry Certificate (Comptia A+, Heart NTA NVQJ certificate in PC repairs) or higher
  • Diploma in Computer Science (or an equivalent combination of education, along with industry experience).
  • Technical certification (i.e. A+ certification) would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
  • Strong written and documentation skills
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment.
