The incumbent is responsible for inventory accuracy throughout the entire KPL group, working closely with Finance to track and record inventory values since the efficient handling of the company’s products and supplies is critical for the attainment of business goals.

Key responsibilities - 

  • Establish and maintain data accuracy with Great Plains systems by ensuring documentation procedures are followed at all times.
  • Supervise an Inventory team for data entry and continual performance improvement.
  • Prompt the Procurement Manager with low stock ahead of target to optimize sales opportunities and keep Inventory within budgets.
  • Meet with Procurement Manager to Plan and execute fortnightly raw materials and weekly finished goods meetings with the various managers and inventory coordinators.
  • Work with all departments in the supply chain – Purchasing, Finance, Sales, Customs & Production teams.
  • Ensure stock variances between sub-ledger and general ledger are reconciled monthly
  • Plan, manage and execute mid-year and year end physical stock checks for the entire group.
  • Plan and execute fortnightly cycle counts for the entire group in warehouses.
  • Ensuring cut off procedures are followed and adjustments made where necessary
  • Be fully accountable for any movements, variances, theft or data entry errors
  • Updating stock for all movements, that is, stock transfers, goods received, etc.
  • Creating new inventory files and formulas on software
  • Ensure obsolete items are checked and secured separately from good stock.
  • Ensure goods received are properly labelled before going into storage. Ensure proper stock rotation to avoid expiration.
  • Develop, improve or communicate policies and procedures with regards to Physical Inventory Procedures, Inventory control, stock rotation and management

       

Qualifications & Experience -

  •  Inventory & Warehouse Management Certificate and/or completed ACCA Level 2
  • High level of efficiency, precision, accuracy and follow-through
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Audit experience would be considered an asset.
  • At least 8 years' experience in a similar position focused on Inventory, Auditing and warehouse management
  • In-debt knowledge of GP Dynamics and Batch master is necessary for this post.
  • Experience with MS Office suite especially Excel, Access and Power Point.
