CAREER OPPORTUNITY - MANAGER, DIGITAL MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Under the direction of the Director - Marketing, the Manager, Digital Marketing and Social Media will provide leadership, oversight and day-to-day management for all digital channels and initiatives that align to the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.’s (BTMI) strategic priorities, compliance, brand, and digital channel requirements. This position is ideal for a marketing or communications professional who is passionate about the digital space, marketing, and the opportunities to engage existing and new audiences.

This role will work closely with external agency partners.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Champion the implementation of BTMI strategic priorities across multiple channels - Web, Email, Social, Mobile, Search and internal rollout and adoption of new digital marketing technologies – CMS and Email.
  • Develop and execute digital initiatives with external agency partners that align to BTMI’s strategic priorities, compliance, brand, and digital channel requirements.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other content providers, writers, designers etc. to help develop and provide editorial oversight to BTMI's content strategy and manage the day-to-day delivery.
  • Proactively track, communicate, and improve upon key performance indicators.
  • Hold monthly calls with country-based marketing teams to report on group digital activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to digital marketing.
  • Assure compliance with all organizational, security, and regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
  • Work with the marketing, product, public relations, and communications teams to develop and execute digital campaigns.
  • Lead the development and implementation of various organization digital projects.
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.

Kowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Previous experience in tourism services would be an asset.
  • Proven ability to innovate and deliver highly impactful digital marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent team leadership skills and the ability to bring together a variety of different talent and ideas to create and execute projects.
  • Excellent web/digital media project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects / deadlines gracefully, fostering teamwork amongst colleagues.
  • Familiarity with how to use CMS, Email Deployment, Analytics and Social tools, and a solid understanding of the value and opportunities each of these deliverables.
  • Strong track record working with various digital platforms: front-end, back-end and software applications.
  • Results driven, able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or a related discipline with five (5) years’ experience required either within an agency or marketing environment.
  • At least two (2) years’ channel experience in digital, email, social and mobile.
