Business Analyst

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be required to take a proactive approach in ensuring the seamless operation of the analyst and support functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Investigating and obtaining critical data for review, analysis and presentation of findings
• Assisting with the preparation of time sensitive reports
• Producing analytical reports
• Monitoring deliverables and ensuring  timely completion of projects
• Conducting market analyses and analyzing financial reports
• Monitoring the company’s performance scorecard, ensuring business data and reporting needs are met.
• Strategizing ideas to improve business operations

The position is based in Kingston.  Our ideal candidate is a resourceful and organized individual, with excellent communication, planning and time management skills.  At minimum, applicants should possess the following:

• First Degree in Business Administration/Management / Insurance/ Actuarial Science or related field
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity; general insurance experience would be an asset
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
• Working Knowledge of Financial Statements
• Excellent documentation skills
• Experience creating detailed reports and delivering presentations
• A track record of following through on commitments
• Excellent ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
• High level of ethics, integrity, creativity, intellectual curiosity, persistence and achievement orientation
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite [EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint etc.]
