Position Title: Health and Safety Officer

Location: Westbees Supermarket, Deigo Martin Branch

Job Type: Full-Time, Monthly Salary

Job Overview:

As a Health and Safety Officer at Westbees Supermarket, your role is pivotal in maintaining a secure and compliant work environment. You will oversee day-to-day health and safety issues, ensuring adherence to regulations, and implementing measures to promote a safe workplace. This position entails Monday to Friday work and at least two Saturdays per month, with no work on Sundays or public holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or near-misses
• Train employees on health and safety protocols and best practices
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with management to resolve safety concerns and recommend improvements
• Conduct emergency response drills and ensure preparedness for contingencies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or related field
• Certification in health and safety is mandatory
• Proven experience in dealing with health and safety procedures
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address issues as they arise
• Ability to work on Saturdays as required (at least two Saturdays per month)
• Prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred
