Our client is seeking to hire a seasoned Logistics & Supply Chain Manager to join the team in Montego Bay, St. James.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Logistic Manager to join our dynamic team in a duty-free retail company. As the Logistic Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and effective management of our supply chain and logistics operations. Your expertise in retail, import processes, inventory control, and experience in a duty-free environment will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations and optimal customer satisfaction.
 

Responsibilities:

Retail Expertise:

  • Utilize your extensive experience in the retail industry to develop and implement efficient logistics strategies tailored to our duty-free retail environment.
  • Collaborate with the retail team to forecast demand, plan inventory requirements, and optimize product flow to meet customer demands.
     

Import Experience:

  • Apply your import experience to oversee the importation process, including liaising with suppliers, customs agencies, and freight forwarders.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely customs clearance of imported goods.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize the import process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and cost-effective shipping arrangements.

 

Duty-Free Environment (Asset):

  • Leverage your experience in a duty-free environment to effectively manage the logistics operations within the unique context of duty-free retail.
  • Familiarize yourself with duty-free regulations and any specific customs requirements applicable to our business.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with duty-free regulations, as well as smooth transportation and delivery of duty-free products.

 

Inventory Control:

  • Take charge of inventory management and control processes to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Utilize inventory management software and tools to monitor stock levels, track product movements, and generate inventory reports.
  • Implement efficient stock replenishment strategies based on demand forecasting, sales trends, and product shelf life.


Large Assortment and Stock:

  • Utilize your experience working with a wide assortment and significant stock to efficiently manage and optimize the flow of products within the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to maintain optimal stock levels, considering factors such as product seasonality, expiration dates, and sales trends.
  • Implement effective storage and warehousing strategies to ensure proper organization, accessibility, and preservation of goods.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in a logistic management role within the retail industry.
  • Strong import and customs knowledge, with a track record of successfully managing import processes.
  • Experience working in a duty-free environment is a significant asset.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
