Job Description

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the HSE function at the geo level, overseeing multiple facilities within the region
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the Geo leadership team, Site HSE Committees, and Site Security and HSE officers
  • Continually review and maintain robust HSE processes at the geo level, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Determine, develop, and implement appropriate processes to fulfill the organization's HSE objectives and targets at both the geo and site level
  • Develop and incorporate specific HSE requirements for new projects and expansions within the geo, aligned with the organization's overall goals
  • Develop comprehensive HSE and emergency management policies, processes, and operating protocols for adoption across the operational functions
  • Conduct HSE risk and impact assessments while designing and developing improvement projects related to ergonomics, safety, environmental sustainability, and more
  • Develop audit programs and conduct internal audits, workplace inspections, and incident investigations to implement prevention strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company HSE policies
  • Identify relevant Health, Safety, and Environment legal requirements, track changes in regulations, and develop processes to fulfill compliance obligations within the geo
  • Facilitate and provide training to the operational functions for effective deployment of HSE processes, and regularly review and audit their implementation, keeping the leadership team updated during management review meetings
  • Coordinate with process owners to collect, collate, and analyze HSE data from multiple facilities within the geo, summarizing it for presentation to Top Management
  • Support in responding to external assessments such as United Nations Global Compact, Carbon Disclosure Project, Eco Vadis Sustainability Assessment, client RFPs, and participate in customer assessments, ensuring compliance and demonstrating commitment to HSE standards
  • Collaborate with the security manager to streamline security and emergency procedures and controls at the site level, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets
  • Develop training materials on various HSE topics and drive awareness activities through channels such as e-learning, town hall sessions, and online sessions to promote a strong HSE culture within the geo.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering / Environmental Sciences / Industrial Hygiene and Safety
    • Lead auditor in ISO 45001 & 14001 and Social Responsibility (e. g. SA8000, GRI)
    • Certifications like NEBOSH, CSP, CIH, OSHA, etc. will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 6-8 years of work experience in environment, health and safety is required for this position. Experience in IT / ITES organizations and Corporate is an advantage.
    • Well experienced in environmental compliance, employee occupational safety and health is required along with a solid understanding of geographical EH&S laws and regulations.
    • Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal
    • Leadership experience or / and project management experience is highly preferred

This role will be predominantly Physical Security and HSE compliance
