Business Development Officer - Kingston

Chancellor Insurance Agency Limited is seeking BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS to join our team.

As the flagship company of the MeriChan Group, Chancellor Insurance Agency has established itself as a top insurance brokerage house, winning several industry awards over the past 16 years. We are a multi-line organisation, offering a wide range of insurance products and services which include individual and group life insurance, health insurance, pension and general insurance.

We are inviting passionate, driven, goal-oriented professionals to join our Employee Benefits team as Business Development Officers.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Strong sales skills with a proven ability to prospect and close
• Strong client/customer service skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Familiarity with the Employee Benefits market and products will be an asset
• Ability to communicate effectively at the senior level within organizations
• Computer literate (sufficient to produce reports and spreadsheets)
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle
• The desire to earn an uncapped salary

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 CXCs (Diploma or Tertiary level education preferred)
• FLMI or equivalent qualification will be an asset
• At least 2 years’ experience in Sales or Marketing
• Experience in Employee Benefits will be an asset

Responsibilities:

• Pursues opportunities to secure business with enthusiasm
• Prospects and sells new business via leads, cold canvassing and other techniques used to expand market share
• Builds and maintains strategic relationships, seeks new opportunities through networking, as well as keeps abreast of industry developments to inform business decisions.
• Contributes to the development of the department’s plans and budgets by providing inputs based on industry trends and best practices.
• Achieves or surpasses personal and organizational KPIs as set out by the Company
• Reports on field activities and KPIs as required
