The Human Resources (HR) Officer serves as the primary HR contact organization and is responsible to execute human resources functions directed by HR&S Manager which will aid to support and improve daily operations.

HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

 The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Human Resources services for all sites and reports to the Human Resources and Safety Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures; assists in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, HR systems, and performance management;
  • Maintains Human Resource records, ensuring data integrity and compiles reports as needed;
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies;
  • Assist with writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organizational values;
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness;
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems;
  • Assists with the onboarding process and orientation of new hires;
  • Participates in client events and activities to support employee engagement and inclusion;
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Knowledgeable in laws governing equal employment opportunity and human rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labour relations and advises manager accordingly.

Key Competencies

  • Effective Report Writing;
  • HR Functional Expertise - compensation and benefits, compliance with policy development, enforcement and discipline, Performance Management, Training and Employee Engagement Management (run the survey, analyze and present data);
  • Relationship Management;
  • Event and activity planning, onboarding activities.
  • Prior work experience in the construction industry is a plus


Candidates must have the following:

  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in Human Resources operations is required;
  • Bsc. in Human Resource Management, or relating field is required. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered;
  • Ability to handle confidential material; must demonstrate high levels of integrity and trustworthiness;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work collaboratively with individuals from other departments;
  • Proven ability to engage employees, enhance morale, and job satisfaction;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Windows; strength in associated office productivity software tools, MS Office (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to execute on projects from inception through to completion;
  • Methodical approach, detail-oriented, highly organized, and strong time management skills.
