Senior Systems Analyst - Development & Support

SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST – DEVELOPMENT & SUPPORT

(Fixed Term Contract)

 

Purpose of position

 

  1. Manage the design elements of multiple enterprise banking applications, solutions, or services within the Bank, and lead a development / project implementation team
  2. Lead the collaboration with IT technical resources, project managers and vendor technical resources to ensure effective planning and execution of programming, integration
  3. Lead or assist in system integration testing of software systems and associated devices

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and recommend solutions for optimization of integrated business applications for the Bank.
  • Evaluate all problem and impact analysis and recommend solutions and workarounds,
  • Improve, streamline and standardize business application processes leveraging   

  capabilities of staff and external partners, ensuring flawless execution of the agreed  

  plans.

  • Serve as technical lead on development, installation, upgrade, or other projects as 

  needed, including leading IT projects.

  • Participate in project planning and coordinate with project manager/other stakeholder

  to ensure effective application support resources for projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business owners to understand systems requirements, identify and

   lead the implementation of solutions.

  •    Ensure quality assurance review of all functional requirements for new and existing

   business applications.

 

 

 Software Support & Change Management

 

  • Identify and analyze the impact of any business or system change, ensuring the integrity, maintenance and changes to all applications used by the Bank.
  • Lead in the analysis of complex or high-risk problems, client identified issues or problem which may require changes to department procedures, standards or systems.
  • Develop and implement effective change control processes for all aspects of our application systems to mitigate operating risks to the business.

 

 IT Governance, Security, Compliance and People Management.

  • Establish and maintain quality and performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to meet departmental targets and quality goals.
  • Recommend, develop and maintain IT Policies and Procedures, that meet industry and audit best practice standards and guidelines, for effective governance of Application Management and Support.
  • Lead the implementation of the disaster recovery plan for simulations and during emergency situations.

 

Required Qualification, experience and key competencies

 

The successful candidate should have:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Management Information Systems or related discipline
  • A Minimum of five (5) years of diverse work experience in IT, managing Business Application Implementations, successfully delivering high availability IT application support services to lines of businesses in a production support leadership role and three (3) as a Business Analysts for Software Implementations
  • Sound Knowledge of specialized computerized system relevant to a commercial Financial Grouping environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the support and management of and/or directing the support and management of complex business critical systems and applications across multiple business processes and technologies
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving, communication, consultative and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong facilitation, and negotiation skills and the ability to effectively work with persons at different levels within and external to the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
