A dynamic organization in the General Insurance industry is seeking to fill the position of Claims Clerk. The position deals with all aspects of insurance claims on behalf of the company’s clients.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

    • Investigate and process claims in accordance with regulatory and company guidelines and requirements;
    • Ensure compliance with timelines established in company policies and procedures;
    • Provide exceptional service to external and internal customers and act as a resource within the company;
    • Respond to telephone and written correspondence from all related parties;
    • Update company’s core computer system with all pertinent information for assigned claims;
    • Exercise sound decision-making on claims assigned, using knowledge of applicable codes, laws, standards and case law;
    • Prepare payment requisitions;
    • Liaise with intermediaries, branches, Underwriting and Accounts, and other government agencies to ensure timely resolution of claims.
QUALIFICATIONS
    • First degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Actuarial Science or Business Administration;
    • Two years related experience in a financial services environment.

     Required skills and specialized techniques

     Sound proficiency in:

    • Problem solving and decision making techniques;
    • MICROSOFT Applications Word, Power Point and EXCEL;
    • Presentation skills;
    • Process Analysis.

    • Be highly analytical, attentive to details, and have an inquiring mind;
    • Be able to draw inferences from data;
