Purpose:

Support the strategic business growth objectives of SOL ST. LUCIA LTD through effective management of its customer portfolio, and the implementation of SOL policies, standards, and best practices across relevant market segments.  Promote SOL’s core values of Safety, Integrity, Community and Respect.

Accountabilities:

  • Deliver sales targets (margin, volumes, credit, other income, and growth) for all business segments, through a structured approach to customer management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for business growth in all segments – Retail, Commercial, Marine, LPG, and Lubricants.
  • Monitor market conditions and competition activity to ensure optimum competitive position of SOL products
  • Timely implementation of sales plans and strategies to ensure maximum returns, including analysis and review of results with manager.
  • Responsible to maintain customer price books in the enterprise system
  • Responsible for Sales Advertising / Promotion activities and related budgets.
  • Compliance with SOL and Mobil brand standards and image protection.
  • Manage the SOL Excellence Programme ensuring compliance with brand, operating, and customer service standards and requirements.
  • Conduct Ready For Business Audits at Retail Sites
  • Work with Sol service station dealers to ensure smooth operations including site staff service and HSE training
  • Ensure all customer sites meet HSE standards through periodic audits
  • Comply with Sol HSE standards and requirements and promote an incident free working environment.
  • Become familiar with and ensure compliance with the Sol Food Safety Management System.
  • Develop and maintain a sound and trusting business relationship with customers in all business segments.
  • Proactively help in managing the customer credit portfolio using key metrics (Day Sales Outstanding (DSO), % overdue, credit terms).
  • Handle customer issues and queries and the timely resolution thereof.
  • Coordinate training workshops for existing and new customers as needed to align customers with Sol business standards and expectations.
  • Develop technical knowledge for all petroleum products marketed by SOL ST. LUCIA LTD (BVI) and share product technical knowledge with new and existing customers, across all segments.

Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the General Manager.

 

HSE Support

  • General Safety at all company sites.
  • Assist with HSE training where competent to do so.
  • Provide advice/guidance on Retail Security (Saving Lives).

Qualification Requirements:

  • University degree (preferably in business administration or marketing) with 4 years relevant work experience and a valid driver’s license
  • PC Literacy – MS Office Certified User
  • Must have drivers’ license

Other Competency Requirements:

  • The person occupying this position must possess a high degree of competence and responsibility; must be an individual who can make quick, accurate, and sound decisions. 
  • Knowledge of BVI and wider Caribbean markets and operational methods of people in the area.
  • Strategic marketing planning and sales execution.
  • Relevant experience in commercial marketing, with demonstrated sales experience.
  • Numerate with the ability to understand sales and management information reports.
  • Able to self-plan, motivate, and deliver results.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and an attitude to work well with others in teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships with the proven ability to manage people.
  • Expresses confidence in dealing with customers.
  • Experience with HSSE management.
  • Understanding of fuels and lubricant pricing.
  • Must always display a positive attitude towards work and others, show safety awareness and environmental consciousness.

Other Information:

In addition to basic salary the successful applicant shall receive applicable job grade allowances and be eligible to participate in The Sol Group Pension Scheme and its non-contributory Group Health and Life Insurance Scheme.
