Job Title: Spanish Teacher

Job Description: We are actively seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our esteemed institution. Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities in Spanish for all Secondary levels, promoting active learning experiences.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards.
  • Assess and document student progress, providing grades and constructive feedback to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Maintain discipline in line with the school's rules and disciplinary systems.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including social and sporting events, clubs, and student organizations.
  • Initiate and moderate classroom discussions to foster a dynamic learning environment.
  • Provide suitable resources and learning materials for students.
  • Integrate cultural elements of the Spanish-speaking world to enrich the curriculum and provide a comprehensive educational experience.
  • Engage students in critical dialogue, encouraging them to contemplate the cultural, ethical, and societal implications of the Spanish language.
  • Promote the development of the Spanish language on behalf of the school in various capacities.
  • Identify and encourage participation in international Spanish or other language-related competitions.
  • Explore and build an experiential profile for understanding the commercial applications of Spanish and other foreign languages where possible.

Key Prerequisites:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in Spanish, or a related field.
  • Certification or diploma in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (DELE, ELE, etc.).
  • Prior experience is not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated passion and excellence in teaching Spanish.
  • Proven ability to maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
  • Good health and ability to engage in the school's active daily life.
  • Dedication to children, teaching, and ongoing learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Capability to integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies in and out of the classroom.

Extra-Curricular and Culture Building: The successful candidate will function as an ambassador for cultural engagement, recognizing the significance of extracurricular activities in education. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading language clubs, debate teams, or cultural societies that celebrate Spanish culture.
  • Organizing and leading cultural events and international celebrations to foster global appreciation.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to integrate cultural learning across different subjects and initiatives.
  • Promote the use of the Spanish Language by the school’s Faculty in curriculum delivery’.
