The post-holder is accountable for the management and provision of professional services to the Ministry of Finance ranging from some or all aspects of policy development through to the legislation process. They will assist the Assistant Financial Secretary (Regulatory Unit) with planning, coordinating, developing, implementing and monitoring Ministry policy and strategy initiatives in accordance with the Ministry of Finance Business Plan together with recommendations made by the Fiscal Responsibility Panel and the Financial Policy Council.

The post-holder is required to engage with statutory committees, ad-hoc committees, the international business sector together with international standard setting bodies, regional standard setting bodies, and various divisions of foreign governments and ratings agencies in respect of matters related to all aspects of the financial sector and related non-financial sector framework including matters related to supervision, enforcement and compliance with international standards.

Possession of a Master’s degree in law or equivalent, is required along with a minimum of five (5) years’ post-graduate experience in a similar position that requires wide-ranging policy analysis and complex report writing within strict deadlines. Experience in evaluating legal frameworks pertaining to the international business sector generally and financial intuitions specifically. Also required is experience in the use of programme evaluation techniques, statistical research databases and technology in various forms.
