Accountabilities: | OPERATIONS - Always assure the highest level of safety awareness and practices.
- Prepare annual Operations budget and plans including asset renewal and expense schedules by site, special projects, auxiliary equipment renewal, and road transport fleet.
- Deliver annual Operations Plan targets (expense budget, capital expenditure, HSE targets, and operations efficiency)
- Responsible for logistics operations including receipt, storage and distribution of packed and bulk products by road, and marine transport to customers and/or subsidiary depots.
- Responsible for asset integrity and operational efficiency with emphasis on cost control and quality of service to customers. This includes responsibility for an effective preventative maintenance program (retail and customer facilities, facility equipment, and road transport vehicles).
- Operations focal point and day-to-day assistance with Capex projects.
- Responsible for the daily depot operations at Baugher’s Bay, Jean Hill, Virgin Gorda, and Beef Island (as liaison to Aviation Supervisor) and ensure compliance with Sol Operating Standards & Manual Of Authority (MOA)
- Manage relationship with emergency services and Industry stakeholders
- Ensure critical operating procedures including emergency response are documented and reviewed with relevant staff at periodic intervals.
- Responsible for fuels, LPG, and lubricants inventory, including the product replenishment cycle, ordering of spare parts, and other inventories. These activities include but are not limited to the daily inventory reconciliations on LPG, white oils, additives and lubricants. Investigate inventory product-loss variance outside of tolerance expectations.
- Participate in competence monitoring and performance assessment of Operations staff as appropriate. Agree and implement training plans to address staff competency gaps.
- Assure critical pipelines and equipment are tested per agreed standards.
- Responsible for retail additive addition/dosage and reconciliation.
- Provide for specific annual staff training in the areas of RTW Loading and Discharge procedures, Firefighting, Road Transport Management, Electrostatic Ignition, Switch Loading, PTW, Defensive Driving and First Aid.
- Proactively manage staff work life balance
- Coordinate and approve staff vacations per an overall plan to assure continuity of safe and competently run operations
- Assure that controls processes, per the SOL MOA, are not breached in the issuance of works and giving instructions to suppliers and contractors.
- Lead and coach staff.
HSE Support - Perform the role of HSE Focal Point - Championing Safety Initiatives (e.g., Goal Zero), and enforcing safety standards at the market level.
- Coordinate HSE Committee and other safety meetings
- Ensure staff & contractors wear proper Personal Protective Equip. (PPE).
- Support Depot Housekeeping, HSE Audits, workplace observations, and Hazard ID reporting
- Responsible for incident reporting per the Sol Incident Reporting Procedure.
- Collation and submission of monthly HSE KPIs
- Safety induction for new employees & contractors (document).
- General Safety at all company sites.
- Assist with HSE training where competent to do so.
- Permit to Work (PTW) issuance per the Sol PTW Procedures and standards
- Review Depot & Office security with the Group Operations Manager
- Actively support the Sol POEMS HSE-MS implementation including ownership of HSE Cases (Depot, LPG, Road Transport, etc.)
- Provide advice/guidance on Retail Security (Saving Lives).
- Implement and coordinate actions stemming from Remedial Action Plan, Distribution Operations Review (DOR) and other Audits and Reviews.
- Maintain an updated Hazardous Materials Register.
- Support Sales in managing HSE compliance and training. (Wet-stock management, security policy, product delivery, and other guidelines).

He/she must be able to work unsupervised and have a genuine understanding of all phases of the operation. Additionally, the candidate must be able to effectively communicate to his/her supervisor and co-workers.
- Must follow Quality Control procedures and ensure safety standards are understood and carried out by every staff member. He/she must also be able to fill in for the General Manager during brief absences, if requested to do so.
