ROLE AND CORE FUNCTION


The Senior Research Analyst is a key member of a dynamic team of Analysts that are at the centre of the Company’s investment process. The Senior Research Analyst is primarily responsible for conducting investment research and aiding in the development and implementation of asset management products. The Senior Research Analyst will also play a leading role in developing the macro strategy and outlooks for internal Portfolio Managers and for external clients.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Conducting data-driven global macro-financial research to arrive at actionable investment strategies for the Company and its clients  
  • Generating investment recommendations across sovereign and corporate credit, local and international equities and alternative asset classes.
  • Developing and maintaining various financial models for local and global public equities and capital market return expectations
  • Performing company and asset valuations.
  • Providing analytical support to Barita's Investment Banking business.
  • Aiding in the origination, structuring and implementation of new Asset Management Products i.e. Unit Trusts, Individual Retirement Schemes, Managed Portfolios.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Accounts or any other related discipline.
  • Level II Candidacy or higher in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Program would be a distinct asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Treasury Management, Investment Research, macroeconomic research, Portfolio Management or Investment Banking. 

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Strong financial analytic skills and an ability to balance risk/reward when evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Sound knowledge of local, and global financial markets
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Investment System required.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment of the local securities dealing industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate investment philosophy, strategy and performance to internal and external clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well with others.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and self-directedness
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
