Roberts Manufacturing Co. Limited, a SQF certified manufacturer of shortening, margarine, soybean oil, animal feeds and dog food, invites suitably qualified applicants for the post of REFINERY OPERATOR. The specifics for the post are as follows:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOB

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the oil refinery process and efficiently performing the daily operations of the vegetable/soy oil refinery to consistently produce high-quality oil as per specified guidelines.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the operations of the oil refinery to consistently produce premium quality soy oil, as directed.
  • Monitors and controls various refinery equipment such as pumps, motors, boiler, air compressor, valves, gauges and filter press to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Adjust process variables to optimize production while adhering to product specifications and safety standards.
  • Follow the established Health, Safety, Security and Environment policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and emergency response protocols.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance of refinery equipment.
  • Monitor product quality through sampling and laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, process parameters and production data.
  • Perform any other reasonable job-related activities.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four (4) CXC subjects including Mathematics, English Language and Chemistry.
  • Certification in one of the following: Plant Maintenance/ Industrial Process Operations, Mechanical Engineering NVQ Level 3.
  • Strong knowledge of Batching procedures, equipment and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge or experience in laboratory process control and Titration procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Willingness to be trained as necessary.
