PILOT PLANT TECHNICIAN

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Pilot Plant Technician in our Process Development Division.

PILOT PLANT TECHNICIAN

The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the equipment maintenance programme, receiving incoming raw materials and packaging materials and arranging appropriate storage, conducting Quality Control checks on raw materials and finished products.  The incumbent will be expected to work in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Standard, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety systems.

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • Diploma in Machine Operation, Agro Processing or equivalent
  • Training in boiler and generator operations

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in food processing operations.

  REQUIRED SKILLS AND SPECIALISED TECHNIQUES

  • Working knowledge of factory-scale equipment operations
  • Good mechanical and technical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good Teamwork ability.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                            

  • Maintains equipment in good sanitary and operating conditions.
  • Assists in monitoring the Equipment Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
  • Assists in food processing activities and the conducting of quality control/analytical tests.
  • Conducts technology transfer of food formulations to clients. 
  • Checks, sorts and stores incoming supplies and materials in appropriate storage areas.
  • Supports ISO 9001:2015, GMP and HACCP systems (including documentation, hygiene, sanitation, equipment, processes, etc) in the Pilot Plant.
