General Manager

Our Client, Media Sandbox, is seeking to fill the position of General Manager. 

Company Overview:

Media Sandbox Jamaica is engaged in the business of multimedia, video, television, web design, digital video delivery and closed captioning services.

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organization's business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs.

Duties for the general manager will include allocating budget resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors locally, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities. 

Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist our organization in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives. 

The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting, and finance skills, and strong leadership qualities. The noteworthy general manager should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily business operations while implementing growth strategies.
  • Coordinating training for staff across all departments
  • Working together with key participants to compile and manage the budget
  • Hiring employees.
  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Generating reports and giving presentations.
  • Developing key performance goals and managing the performance of staff
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy and labour laws
  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operations manual and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Management or a Business Administration.
  • Good knowledge of different business functions.
  • Keen strategic thinking and planning
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training and mentorship
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Good organization and time management
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment
  • Highly organized.
