Industrial Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Sector)

Overview: Our client is one of the leading suppliers of metalworks in the Caribbean with partners spread across the Caribbean. Due to growth they are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Technician to be a part of their team based in Barbados. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the factory equipment and machinery are in strong working condition.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Improve machinery efficiencies and reduce downtime .
  • Performing equipment servicing and maintenance tasks.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting any mechanical faults and issues
  • Examining to check if all the production machinery is in working order.
  • Adhering to the safety regulations and industry guidelines at all times.
  • Undertaking regular maintenance checks.
  • Machining and welding skills would be an asset .
  • Using hand and machine tools when handling any machinery or mechanical parts
  • Processing broken or damaged machine parts for repairs and upgrades.
  • Assisting in the installation of new production equipment.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven work experience (4-5 years) as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Technician or a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Complete knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Understanding of hand and machine tools.
  • Familiarity with the safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical and mechanical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful environments.
