The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting and overseeing various financial and accounting activities ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities:
- Organizes the workflow and goals management of the department for effective service delivery in collaboration with the Manager
- Service, build and maintain relationships with a variety of clients, understanding their unique business and needs in furtherance of departmental growth
- Develops and implements policies and procedures necessary for meeting the requirements of AOS’ clients and ensuring a satisfied clientele in collaboration with the Manager
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the department
- Working with the COO/ Executives and Management for strategy development and execution planning
- Defining roles of staff and guiding the talent identification in support of effective service delivery and organisation objectives
- Creating succession plans and development opportunities for staff
- Review performance, coach, develop and mentor team members to achieve individual goals.
- Conducting relevant training to all direct reports to ensure continuous growth and development
- Prepare proposals, RFP’s, engagement letters as well as costing for potential jobs
- Prepare budgets for the department for each financial year in collaboration with the Manager
- Review of deliverables to Finance Department- WIP, invoicing etc. and take action where necessary
- Conducts timely performance reviews with the overall intent of closing gaps and identifying changes to KPI’s and professional developmental plans by established deadlines
- Prepare, review and approve;
• Monthly accounts
• Annual Management and Statutory accounts and working Papers file, in accordance with IFRS
• Bi-monthly VAT and quarterly taxes computations and filling of respective returns
• Tax computations including deferred taxes
Qualifications and Experience:
- ACCA Qualified
- 4-5 years' experience in a similar environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Sound knowledge of accounting software
- Sound understanding of Tax and VAT laws and regulations
- Sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
