Operations Manager

Our Client, Kanoo Pays Ltd, is seeking to fill the position of Operations Manager.

Company Overview:

Kanoo Pays Ltd., an up-and-coming FinTech company based in Kingston, Jamaica, pioneers innovative financial solutions, driving unparalleled service and technology in the market. As we are currently in a dynamic growth phase, we are seeking a proficient Operations Manager to facilitate our ambitious expansion plans.

Job Purpose:

As the Operations Manager of Kanoo Pays, your primary responsibility is to develop, expand, and manage the Kanoo Pays vendor network utilizing technology developed and deployed by the Company. As an operations leader, you will work closely with the multiple strategic and general vendor contacts and customers to leverage and expand their reach within the Kanoo Pays ecosystem. This role is a combination of proactive team leadership, strategic planning, procedural development and improvement, and hands-on operations work.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy and Implementation:

  • Lead the implementation of the Kanoo Solutions, aligning it with overarching business goals.
  • Collaborate with Vendors and Merchants for training, launching, and scaling all facets of the implementation and operations program.
  • Design, implement, and refine operational strategies and processes grounded in the understanding of local market dynamics and fintech trends.
  • Manage Vendor and Merchant onboarding in collaboration with the Operations and Sales team, to drive conversion ratios.
  • Support the Sales team in understanding the adoption and usage of the deployed solution through usage reports.

Team Management and Development:

  • Cultivate a team that's not just skilled but also culturally attuned to the Jamaican financial sector.
  • Lead and mentor the operations team to ensure day-to-day excellence.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of operational staff.

Process Optimization:

  • Develop and deploy merchant-specific infrastructure and processes.
  • Manage initiative planning processes, encompassing the formulation of business plans, go-to market strategies, and project timelines.
  • Organize and Implement the Social Services Gift Card Program
  • Implement and Maintain Companywide CRM and Administrative System (E.g. Zoho).
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final recommendations.
  • Lead the development of user manuals to assist with team train the trainer sessions, as well as merchant and vendor training sessions.
  • Maintain updated manuals based on version releases of the solutions.

Management of Hardware

  • Manage the inventory of POS terminals, to include asset management tracking, deployment, scheduling for service and maintenance.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Keep abreast of Jamaican fintech regulations and ensure company-wide adherence and update the wider Kanoo team during defined updated meetings.
  • Implement risk management processes and monitor operational risks. 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal departments like Sales, Communications, Compliance and Marketing.
  • Liaise with local partners, regulatory bodies, and service providers, harnessing the strength of local expertise.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Monitor and control operational costs.

General Responsibilities:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in senior operational roles, with a focus on Information Technology or Financial Services.
  • Demonstrated success in process optimization and team management.
  • Familiarity with Jamaican BOJ (Bank of Jamaica) fintech regulations or similar.
  • Proven track record in the Jamaican financial sector or fintech industry.
