POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team at Munch Kings. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and helping to maintain the financial health of our organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strategic planning, and adherence to accounting standards. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a CFO position, making it ideal for a candidate who aspires to advance their career in financial management.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. **Financial Reporting:** Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

 

2. **Budgeting and Forecasting:** Collaborate with the CFO to develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts, assisting in the formulation of financial strategies and goals.

 

3. **Accounts Payable and Receivable:** Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.

 

4. **General Ledger Maintenance:** Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy of financial transactions.

 

5. **Financial Analysis:** Provide insightful financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and presenting findings to the CFO and senior management.

 

6. **Tax Compliance:** Assist in tax planning and compliance, including the preparation of tax returns and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.

 

7. **Financial Audits:** Coordinate and support external audits and internal audits, working closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and address audit findings.

 

8. **Cost Control:** Monitor and analyze costs related to raw materials, production, and distribution to identify cost-saving opportunities.

 

9. **Inventory Management:** Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation and reconciliations, to maintain accurate records and control stock levels.

 

10. **Financial Systems:** Collaborate in the selection and implementation of financial software systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.

 

11. **Compliance and Regulations:** Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and standards, ensuring the company's financial practices are in compliance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA, CPA or similar certification is a plus.

- 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent) – we use Sage

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive process improvements.

- Experience in the food manufacturing or retail industry is a plus.
