The Cargo Coordinator is responsible to accurately co-ordinate receipt of all outbound cargo ready for vessel loading and the same for all inbound cargo for timely despatch to supplier/vendor locations.
Roles & Responsibilities
General
• Comply with ASCO Integrated Management Systems – AIMS that encompasses ASCO’s objectives with regards to Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and People.
• Attend daily morning meeting.
• Act as Emergency Warden where necessary.
Inbound Cargo
• Ensure all back load manifests and supporting paperwork are available for incoming supply vessels and distributed throughout the supply base team as required.
• Liaise with Operations to ensure the back loaded cargo physically corresponds to that manifested. Alert the relevant Offshore Logistics coordinator of any discrepancies and ensure the cargo is held till resolved.
• Ensure all inbound cargo received in the Marshalling Yard is offloaded in the correct area allocated to its’ supplier.
• Ensure optimisation of trucks and other resources to clear the Quayside of back loaded cargo as efficiently as possible to the Marshalling Yard.
• Coordinate with supplier truck drivers when on site to ensure they are loaded efficiently and have the correct documentation for onward journey.
• Ensure any cargo over 15t is offloaded to the quayside inbound storage area to be collected by vendor’s truck.
• Update the Onshore Logistics Coordinators daily of the status of back loaded cargo ensuring that any cargo not picked up in a timely manner is highlighted.
Outbound Cargo
• To accurately co-ordinate all outbound cargo ready for shipment offshore.
• Ensure that cargo received from suppliers corresponds with LON & Delivery Notes.
• Ensure Pre-load list is prepared in a timely manner prior to vessel loading & issued to vessel master & ASCO Operations Foreman.
• Ensure all supporting documentation e.g. Dangerous Goods declarations, MSDS are accurately completed and correct and that the cargo is marked with the correct end location labels.
• Ensure all cargo received in the Marshalling Yard is offloaded in the correct area allocated to its’ end delivery location.
• Ensure any cargo over 15t is delivered direct to the quayside to be offloaded by crane & await shipping.
• Liaise with the Operations team on timing, sequence & location (berth) of vessel loading and arrange loading of trucks in the Marshalling Yard to correspond.
• Ensure any exceptional cargo being delivered on the day of sailing is directed straight to the relevant berth for offloading.
• Advise the Onshore Logistics Coordinator of any delayed or late cargo that may impact the vessel sailing schedule.
• Advise the Onshore Logistics Coordinator of any cargo that failed inspection and discuss possible remedial options.
• Advise & seek approval from the relevant client representative of any potential over time work.
• Ensure appropriate transactions are processed to account for material movement. These include proper filing of documents involved as per prescribed process.
• Communicate with Rig via Fax, Telephone and agreed online system, the nature and quantities of materials aboard vessel, before vessel departs. Vessel must be physically inspected and cargo verified before departure.
• Liaise with Pipe Yard team to coordinate the load out of OCTG to coincide with vessel loading plan.
Customer
• Develop and maintain effective customer relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery within the ASCO operation.
• Investigate service failures and suggest improvements/changes to the process where required.
Minimum Qualifications
• 5+ Years' relevant experience with Drilling Equipment and Oilfield logistics
• Secondary level education.
• Clean Certificate of Character

• Physically fit, ability to lift 50lbs, traverse ladders, able to function outdoors in the hot sun.

• Training in utilizing Microsoft Office applications and Client LLC office systems (Email, DWF, Internet).
