POSITION OVERVIEW:

The E-Content Writer would be working closely with the Marketing & E-Commerce Manager. The incumbent will research, write, edit, proof and format product descriptions (appropriate specifications, style, etc.). This involves conducting competitive and vendor research to identify industry best practices and develop copy standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

E-Commerce Merchandise-specific Content

• Research, write, edit, proof and format quality online product descriptions (appropriate specification, style, etc.) for website catalogue to help the customer make a purchasing decision.
• Write production descriptions (high-end catalog style), and other product- specific copy, brand, trend and gift descriptions, as well as feature editorial and promotional copy.
• Ensure that copy is accurate and effective in communicating the desired message.
• Liaise with the Graphic Designer and/or Multimedia Specialist to obtain images as needed.
• Publish content to inventory system.
• Achieve product upload targets as set by Management, where applicable.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Experience

• Five (5) CXC passes, including Mathematics and English A.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. 
• Previous experience using an inventory system is highly preferred.
