Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a creative, self-motivated and resourceful individual to join our Senior Management Team as Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate should be flexible, be able to work on own initiative and be able to meet deadlines stipulated by the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Source, direct, coordinate, organize and monitor purchasing of all raw material for the company globally.
• Lead the negotiation process with suppliers to achieve preferential pricing and best credit arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures that govern the purchasing of goods.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of suppliers’ performance.
• Monitor world market price movements.
• Prepare annual budget, monitor status of budget and identify budgetary changes in patterns.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills to arrange the best contracts, prices, credit limits and credit terms with suppliers.
• Ability to perform analysis and understand supply-chain management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated leadership and excellent time management.
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
• Strong coordinating and organizational skills.
• Critical problem solving skill.

• BSc Management Studies /Operations Management
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar position
• Experience in a manufacturing environment will be a distinct advantage.
