The Service Station/Gas Station Assistant Manager position is a hands-on position which involves actively overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service station, working directly with the Manager and Managing Director. The successful individual must work at least six days each week.

Summary

The Assistant Manager position is a hands-on position which involves actively overseeing the day-to-day operations of a fuel service station located in the East-West corridor and working directly with the Manager and Managing Director. The applicant must be able to climb the delivery Road Tank Wagon, must possess a valid driver’s permit to drive manual transmission vehicles, must be able to work at least six days each week and be on call 24 hours daily. 
 

Key Duties and Expectations

Operational

  • Ensuring overall standards for safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Ensuring adherence to the company’s cash handling and accountability processes.
  • Ensuring compliance to  policies and procedures
  • Performing daily monitoring and reporting fuel and inventory stock levels.
  • Reviewing daily reporting paperwork to ensure accuracy and prepare detailed summaries and analyses of same
  • Validating vendor deliveries and reporting variances.
  • Preparing requisitions for replenishment of stock.
  • Ensuring successful adherence to budgetary allocations.
  • Conducting performance appraisals, performing approved hiring and staffing functions and processing payroll.
  • Performing sales analyses and meeting sales targets
  • Periodically performing cashiering duties and holding shift if as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to perform the following minimum physical behaviours: standing, walking, lifting, stretching and climbing Road Tank Wagons, squatting and performing physical labour.
  • Must be able to monitor and analyse market trends, effectively communicate key findings, identify and proactively address gaps and identify opportunities to increase market share.
  • Ability to carry out written or oral instructions and possess strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Maintaining good and professional employee relations with all employees.

General Qualification Requirements

Applicant must:

  • Possess and demonstrate strong leadership, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Possess at least 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Must have a valid driver's permit and a reliable vehicle. 
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic. 
  • Possess strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Value accuracy in reporting and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate advance proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Business, Finance or Marketing or the equivalent supervisory/managerial experience.
Remuneration - TT$6,000 plust $1,000 allowance.
