The HR Manager provides strategic and tactical direction for the department while providing practical, consistent, and proactive support, direction, and advice to division managers to facilitate the achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives

  • Provides leadership for the department in the development and implementation of tactical and operational policies, plans and initiatives towards the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
  • Develops, updates and maintains policy manuals as well as employee handbooks as needed to ensure compliance with existing legislation.
  • Briefs new Managers on the organization’s policies and procedures while providing coaching for managers on difficult and complex IR issues ensuring best practice maintained.
  • Manages the operational efficiency and service level of the HR department to achieve compliance with corporate policy.
  • Actively manages the development of the HR team through coaching and guidance.
  • Ensures the completion of performance evaluation for HR team, within established timeframes and facilitates the execution of developmental programmes for the team.
  • Ensures the maintenance of all payrolls and HRIS systems consistent with the organization’s strategy. Actively engages in coaching and counselling with managers and team members as needed.
  • Creates and delivers training programmes for team members and Managers for performance management and other initiatives.
  • Provides consistent guidance and advice to Managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary and performance issues.
  • Overall oversight for maintaining good industrial relations climate within the organization.
  • Analyses statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of HR issues and develops recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides management with timely and relevant analytical/dashboard reports on HR practice and performance.
