Applications are invited for the post of Marketing/ Public Relations Manager.

The Marketing/Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, executing and managing marketing/public relations/ communication strategies and activities to promote and advance the interest and reputation of the organization by effectively representing its projects, programmes, services and activities to the general public as well as internal and external stakeholders.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, manage and direct the organization's Marketing/ Public Relations activities to achieve established targets and performance standards.
  • Initiate, formulate, design, develop, implement and manage marketing and public relations programmees utilizing the print and electronic media to promote the organization's image, role and objectives.
  • Formulate, implement and manage public education programmes utilizing the mass media at public forums to foster greater understanding and public awareness of the organization's policies and objectives.
  • Oversee the organization's interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms.
  • Develop and implement the organization's Social Media strategy in order to increase online presence and improve marketing efforts.
  • Monitor public perception and media responses of the organization's projects/ programmes through the printed and electronic media as well as feedback from customers.
  • Liaise with public relations/information officers within the portfolio ministry and other agencies to coordinate and implement public relations and education programmes.
  • Develop/organize programmes for radios, television and print media in consultation with government information agencies.
  • Organize press briefings, interviews, receptions, meetings, employee related functions and other special events on behalf of the organization and ensure media coverage for the organization's functions.
  • Conduct Risk Assessment of the organization' Communication strategies and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the image of the Fund.
  • Manage the implementation of crisis communication strategies ensuring effective media management of sensitive information.
  • Participate in the review and development of the organization's customer service and public relations/ communication policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide leadership to staff through effective objective setting, delegation and communication.
  • Provide guidance/advise on communication and public relations matters.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the organization's performance and development of corporate strategies for improvement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • First Degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a communication practitioner
  • Sound knowledge of  communications/public relations programme planning.
  • Sound knowledge of public relations/education techniques, practices and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of Government’s communication policies and protocols.
  • Demonstrative skills and knowledge of the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations strategies, approaches, tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent written communication skills.

 

Ownership of a reliable motor vehicle approved for use on corporate business is a requirement.
