Settlement Officer

The Settlement Officer main responsible is to accept and account for funds collected from ALL sales personnel on a daily basis while preparing the requisite reconciliations/reports for timely distribution and analysis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept cash and cheques from all route sales personnel on a daily basis.
  • Prepare consolidated lodgements for cash and cheques collected daily on shift.
  • Audit on a daily basis route salesmen temporary receipt books and manual invoice books preparing the requisite reports.
  • Post cash receipt records for route sales collections for Kingston and Montego Bay.
  • Prepare route sales Invoice/Batch reconciliation on a daily/weekly basis for the Kingston and Montego Bay operations.
  • Apply and clear credit notes deducted by route sales cash customers.
  • Prepare daily/weekly cash shortage report for Kingston and Montego Bay
  • Track daily the usage of the route salesmen New Customers’ accounts and report accordingly.
  • Adhere to procedural manual and guidelines when carrying out duties.
  • Assist with updating receipts on customer’s accounts during month end close off.
  • Observe and ensure observance of all policies and procedures relating to the Credit function.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
  • At least 2-3 years' working in a similar role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent reconciliation skills
  • Excellent Time Management and Customer Service Skills.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and creativity.
  • Detail oriented, pays keen attention to accuracy.
  • Must be able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure.

WORKING HOURS

This role operates within a clerical office setting, full time between the hours of 11 am – 8 pm. You will be expected to work beyond standard operating hours as the need arises and your co-operation is anticipated.
