Remote Senior Auditor – Insurance (8 - 10 weeks contract)

Responsibilities:

- Performs management reviews of a compliance nature, statutory return analysis, solvency capital evaluation, and monitoring of selected businesses and report findings and recommendations to the Principal for discussion and development of an action plan.

- Undertakes on-site reviews and analysis of selected business and their respective capital models by utilizing various risk assessment methodologies to evaluate compliance with existing laws, regulations, policies, plans and procedures and/or identify risk issues and formulate reports on findings for submission and discussion with management.

- Develops agenda, schedules and attends prudential meetings with financial entities to discuss findings of review, minute discussions/decisions and develops corrective action plan as appropriate.

- Undertakes projects relating to the departments' supervisory and regulatory responsibilities, as requested.

- Monitors the market with specific focus on developments in the insurance industry (local and international), regulatory bodies/regimes, accounting standards as well as market information on insurance companies via monitoring of key indicators, newspapers, periodicals, media and relevant websites.

- Monitors identified high risk licencees with compliance issues by review, memoranda and timely direct follow up with company representatives.

- Reviews applications in accordance with existing legislation.

- Performs other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in business or insurance related field and/or equivalent qualifications in Insurance, finance, Accounting from a recognized institution or professional body.

- Minimum of five (5) years graduate experience in the Insurance, financial services industry and/or working experience with a financial regulatory body.
