Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be required to contribute the safe, reliable, effective, and efficient manufacture of high-quality pasta; the Production Controller supports the coordination and control of daily production and warehousing activities with the objectives of ensuring food safety, product demand fulfilment, SKU Availability, waste minimization and inventory control.                                                                                                                                                       

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Leads the daily planning and control of all material movement at the plant and at offsite locations to ensure demand fulfilment, optimization of line efficiencies, preservation of food safety and quality, and minimization of inventory losses due to stock variances, damage and expiry.
  • Supports the monitoring and validation of the team’s adherence to and effective execution of all pre-requisite program components for preservation of food safety, inclusive of but not limited to GMP’s, cleaning and sanitation, cross-contamination management, storage and handling, waste management, and equipment maintenance and calibration, all of which serve as the foundation for the plants Food Safety and Quality Management System.
  • Assists in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives by; working with managers to plan and manage production tasks to improve runtime, reviewing production plans to identify and reporting potential risks to Manager and developing inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Diligently monitors the activities related to product on hold with Quality and Warehouse personnel, consistently reviewing work in progress inventories, (stored in the warehouse or on the production floor) to seek the earliest opportunities to recover or convert the material.
  • Executes daily production backflushes, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of production information related to raw and packaging material consumption and actual finished goods production.
  • Develops and ensures timely and accurate execution of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements including assuring the accuracy and completeness of all production data collection reports.
  • Implements a base of performance metrics which are routinely tracked, reviewed, and analysed for identification of opportunities for improvement and recognition of excellence
  •  Ensures the team’s disciplined adherence to all inventory controls to minimize stock variances.

 Position Requirements: 

  • BSc. Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a production planning or production role.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience participating in lean/improvements techniques is considered an asset.
  • Aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Experience with the routine practice of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Expert knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite programs.
