Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Attorney with expertise in civil law and management, and who is also proficient in using Clio, the leading legal practice management software, and/or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil law and a proven track record of delivering top-notch legal services. They will play a pivotal role in our team and will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

Responsibilities: 

1. Providing legal counsel to clients in the area of civil law.
2. Conducting legal research, analysis, and case preparation.
3. Representing clients in court proceedings and other legal forums.
4. Drafting legal documents, contracts, and pleadings.
5. Managing and overseeing cases from inception to resolution.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and case files in Clio.
7. Utilizing Clio’s features to optimize case management, time tracking, and billing.
8. Collaborating with legal assistants and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
9. Staying up-to-date with changes in the law and legal technology.

Qualifications:

• Active Bar admission in Trinidad and Tobago.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience practising civil law.
• Proficient in using Clio Grow and Clio Manage.
• Proficient in using Microsoft 365.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Client-focused and dedicated to providing top-quality legal services.
