Customs Clerk Grade I

Our client, a well-established firm operating within the Shipping services sector is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced customs clerk (grade I).

We are now looking for a Customs Clerk Grade 1.  

We estimate a monthly salary of $6,000 - $6,500.00

POSITION: Customs Clerk Grade I

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)      Clear shipments (air and ocean) at all ports of entry.

2)      Prepare Trinidad & Tobago Bureau of Standards inspection fees.

3)      Collect shipping documents from agents (air and ocean).

4)      Certify cheques at commercial banks.

5)      Prepare documents and/or review them for accuracy and completeness.

6)      Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors.

7)      Prepare all import and export declarations.

8)      Enter data in the TTBizLink & port of POS NAVIS system.

9)    Obtaining releases from relevant government agencies.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) CXC subjects, including English Language
& Mathematics.

Grade I Customs Clerk licence.

At least three (3) years work experience in Customs clearance &
ASYCUDA import & export declarations

The ideal candidate would own a vehicle and would be able to work
without supervision.

The ability to classify imports & exports declarations using Customs
tariffs would be an asset.
