System Administrator

As part of the Infrastructure team, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day health of the server and network infrastructure.

The System Administrator's primary responsibilities will focus on: 

• Administration of Microsoft Active directory infrastructure and Microsoft Exchange.
• Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
• Administration of physical and virtual servers.
• Administration of systems responsible for monitoring and alerting of critical configuration items.
• Performing and testing backup jobs.
• Researching and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Introducing and integrate new technologies into existing Data Center environments.
• Developing and maintain installation and configuration procedures along with their required documentation.
• Managing the network infrastructure documentation.
• Performing periodic performance reporting related to ongoing operations and capacity planning.
• Interface with vendors for opportunity discovery and technical support.

In order to perform duties to the highest level, the ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ of system administration experience administering a Microsoft domain, with experience being in Windows Server 2008, Server 2012 and up: Active Directory, GPO, WSUS, DHCP, DNS and other windows technologies.
• Working technical knowledge of network infrastructure hardware, protocols, and standards, including routers, switches and firewalls.
• Experience with VMware ESX and other virtualization technologies.
• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange server.
• Working knowledge of Storage technologies: Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN).
• Experience administering Cisco and Fortinet network devices is an asset.
