CaribSupply, a leading supplier of industrial gases and merchandise, seeks to fill the position of:

Technical Sales Representative

 

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE

To be responsible for identifying selling opportunities for the company’s products and services in the assigned region and selling those products and services to clients in business and industry. Demonstrates the use of the products to clients and follows the sale through to delivery and after sales services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Present and sell the company’s products and services to current and potential clients.
  2. Prepare annual and monthly action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
  3. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  4. Identify sales prospects and contact these and existing accounts as assigned.
  5. Prepare presentations, proposals, quotes and sales contracts.
  6. Work closely with the General Manager to develop and maintain sales materials.
  7. Establish and maintain good working relationship with current and new clients.
  8. Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  9. Identify, log and resolve clients’ concerns.
  10. Prepare activity and other status reports and meet regularly with the General Manager to set goals and monitor performance.
  11. Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity to the General Manager.
  12. Work closely with managers to accomplish the work necessary to close sales.
  13. Coordinate schedules with selling and delivery supervisor to ensure the timely delivery of merchandise and services to customers.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Follow - up for collection of payment, where appropriate.
  2. Represent the company externally to customers in business and industry and the general public.
  3. Participate in marketing events including seminars and trade shows.
  4. Maintain technical knowledge and training in the company’s products.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:        

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field; industrial program completion an asset.


Experience:       

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a sales/marketing environment.
  • Strong mechanical & or electrical aptitude.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  2. Good knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
  3. Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  4. Strong computer skills including, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  5. Broad functional knowledge of and experience with the company’s products and services and a good understanding of the industry sectors in which the company operates.
  6. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  7. Willingness to travel.
  8. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
  9. Must possess your own vehicle.
