About Crane Resorts

Since 1997 Crane Resorts has expanded from the historic 18-bedroom Crane hotel in St. Philip, Barbados with 30 employees, to a thriving vertically integrated resort developer and management company operating two luxury private residence resorts on the South-East coast of Barbados:

• The Crane Resort (thecrane.com) is our flagship property and a Barbadian landmark dating back to 1887 and now affiliated with Hilton Grand Vacations Club. The Crane consists of 353 residences, totaling 439 bedrooms (including 48 residences under construction), 7 Food & Beverage outlets, a spa, and 3 retail outlets.

• EAST Resort (eastresort.com), formerly known as Beach Houses, EAST currently features 11 luxury villas (totaling 27 bedrooms) and is poised to become the premier eco-luxury, wellness destination in Barbados. Future plans include a full-service wellness center & Spa, farm-to-table restaurant, an organic farm, and approximately 60 more luxury villas spread across the 55-acre oceanfront site.

We have ambitious plans for further expansion with a land bank that includes four major development sites, totaling approximately 190 acres and over two kilometers of ocean/beachfront land, all situated on the unspoilt south-east coast of Barbados.

Group Director of Operations

The Opportunity

We invite an operational leader to join our senior management team, charged with enhancing and sustaining exceptional hospitality standards. The Group Director of Operations will oversee all hospitality teams at both resorts (totalling over 500 employees), with responsibilities encompassing including rooms division, all food & beverage outlets, spa, and retail spaces. This role is pivotal to our future resort development and will play a key role in cultivating a culture of training and employee advancement as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, inspire, and manage the hospitality team to attain guest satisfaction and financial targets across Rooms & Commercial divisions.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance team to achieve resort budgetary goals and establish short and long-term strategic objectives.
• Maintain strong communication with senior representatives from Hilton Grand Vacations Club, ensuring alignment of our operations with Hilton brand standards as needed.
• Cultivate strong relationships with members and owners of the residences.
• Promote a collaborative culture to drive operational success.
• Vigilantly monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-efficiency and profit.
• Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of both internal and external operational processes.

What We Are Looking For

• 10 - 15 years of senior management-level operational experience in managing large resort properties, preferably in the luxury sector.
• Profound understanding of the intricacies of running a complex hotel/resort operation with a large food & beverage component.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and a results-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
• Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• A business-oriented mindset coupled with outstanding organizational, leadership, and talent development skills.
• A self-driven, well-organized, and results-focused professional.
