The Island Routes Groups Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the achievement of the sales revenue targets through support to the Director of Sales, Groups and through initiating contact with both businesses and key individuals in the market.

Groups Operations Supervisor 

He/She will be responsible for promoting and selling Island Route's products and  services;  this  includes  providing  excellent  service  and  care  to  all  customers,  attending  to existing  customers,  creating  new  customers  and  expansion  of  the  local  groups  revenue.  Simultaneous supervising the core team, to ensure maximum output and to encourage and motivate them. The supervisor  is  expected  to  employ the  highest  degree  of  control,  creativity and  expertise  in  the execution  of  programmes  to  ensure  the  objectives   are  satisfied,  that   the  highest  quality experiences are delivered and maximum return-on-investment is achieved.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To  identify  the  business  opportunities  for  the  growth  and  expansion  of  the  Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) portfolio of the company with special focus   on   the   growth   of   revenues   from   local   (Jamaica   &   Regional)   businesses, corporations and groups.
  • To fully implement an efficient strategy for participation of key business partners and for Meeting Planners, which will enable the presentation of the Island Routes business model and   delivery   of   quality   standards   while   exploring   and   expanding   those   available opportunities for business conversion.
  • To ensure the full utilization of appropriate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to enable outreach to qualified leads in an efficient sales and marketing programme
  • To generate new leads and pursue qualified leads, as well as acquire new accounts that will drive the growth of sales in the Groups sector
  • To  support  the  Director  of  Sales,  Groups  in  the  establishment  and  management  of  the important working relationships with the various Associations for MICE travel to elicit group bookings and networking.
  • To  support  and  to  participate  in  relevant  business-to-business  campaigns,  shows,  in- destination activities, for both the direct end user as well as Meetings Planners, that will drive online and offline sales.
  • To  ensure  that  the  relevant  measurement  indicators  and  metrics  are  in  place  that  will support the organizational ability to effectively plan, execute and review programmes and assess the quality of programme delivery.
  • To achieve sales through exceptional negotiations and consensus building strategies with business partners and customers, while establishing positive relationships and influencing key decision makers.
  • To  ensure  the  delivery  of  customer’s  recommendations  and  requests  for  outstanding products and services.
  • Receiving complaints and resolving them timely and in accordance to the company’s standards.
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Follow up and follow through on sensitive clients, key accounts, and specific events.
  • Preparation of team member’s performance reports.
  • Assist with the reward and recognition of the team.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arise.
  • Must be able to, easily adapt to possible situations that may arise.
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • To ensure the effective and timely processing of RFPs to potential clients.
  • To follow through and ensure the effective delivery/execution of group programs.
  • To assist with the coordination and confirmation of FAM trips and other similar events.
  • Adherence to the company’s policy, to include but not limited to, health, safety, sales procedures, confidentiality etc.
  • Be knowledgeable, and keep abreast of the products and services offered by Island Routes & our Certified Partners.

Qualification and Experience Required: 

  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism Management or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience/knowledge in the related field. 
  • Second language an asset, but not required.
  • Should have advance proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
