This role requires an experienced leader who will be responsible for defining the security frameworks for existing and new systems at the college. They will function in the department of Technology Services and report to the Director, Technology Services System.

This person will facilitate security planning, developing, and implementing security policies across multiple platforms while ensuring successful implementation and maintenance of the defined standards across all campuses.

 Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures compliance of IT Security Policies.
  • Provides support in security management and security architect standards and documentations.
  • Manages and supports networking and security services in LAN, WAN and Internet network infrastructure.
  • Manages security devices such as firewall, IDS, VPN, etc.
  • Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and change to network security configuration.
  • Provides fault resolution and escalation.
  • Defines processes to manage the network security.
  • Develops cutting-edge, innovative solutions for IT networks security.
  • Studies the proliferation of viruses and preventing hacker intrusion.
  • Conducts active penetration tests; discover vulnerabilities in information systems.
  • Maintains up-to-date procedures and documentation to support security administration processes.
  • Regularly evaluating existing security administration processes and recommending ways to streamline tasks.
  • Prepares reports and presentations on assigned projects and department performance metrics.
  • Promotes security awareness through online documentation and training.
  • Provides information security training to Help Desk/Support Center and IT technical staff.

 Requirements:

 

  • At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a computer-related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in both Microsoft System Admin and Open Systems Admin.
  • Must be MSCE certified and possess at least one (1) of the following certifications: CISSP, CISA, Security+, SSCP, CIW, GSE, Cisco Firewall Specialist/Cisco VPN Specialist, CCSE, SCNP and/or SANS.
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE 7/8) certification
  • Experience with Cisco or Checkpoint Firewalls, Network and Host Intrusion Detection, Cisco Switch and Router Security Configuration is desirable.
  • Candidates must also possess strong investigation, analytical and computer forensic skills, and have a strong understanding of OS and network security weaknesses, vulnerabilities and remediation, and TCP/IP networking and firewalls.

 

Salary Range: $15,500 - $18,000
