Career Opportunity: Senior Accountant

Location: Kingston Office

JP Tropical Foods Limited, a subsidiary of Pan Jamaica Group, is a diverse, fast-growing Company and the nation’s leading supplier of high quality fresh produce with export markets in the U.S.A. and Caribbean is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate must be technically sound, possess high integrity and be highly motivated to be a part of a dynamic Finance team charged with leading the financial oversight of this business. 

The key requirements of this role are as follows:-

• Preparation of financials for monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
• Management of all tax reporting and filing requirements
• Ensuring the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring monthly completion of reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts and any related actions required
• Lead coordinator of external audits and the associated deliverables
• Key support to Financial Controller for the annual budget exercise

Other responsibilities of this role include (but not limited to):-

• Management of record keeping for all accounting supports
• Reconciliation of intercompany balances with related parties
• Supervision of Accounts Payable
• Preparation of standard journals and bank reconciliation
• Adherence to our Accounting Policy and Procedures for all accounting and reporting activities and control framework.

To be a part of our Team the following qualifications and qualities are required:- 

• University graduate with Accounting or Business degree with minimum ACCA level III qualification or equivalent. At least three (3) years experience in a similar role.
• Strong MS Office and spreadsheet skills.
• Sound analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
• Process driven and the ability to multi-task effectively
• Strong appreciation for deadlines.
